Derek Boyle has been part of the knowledge services team at NHS Education for Scotland (NES) since 2003. In his current role as senior specialist lead, Derek has overall responsibility for the work of the knowledge services team. The team administer and maintain The Knowledge Network, the national digital library for health and social care in Scotland. This includes managing the procurement and provision of access to digital library services nationally, including the provision of subscription e-resources and providing training and promotional activities to promote the use of knowledge in practice, information skills and health literacy. More recently, the team worked in partnership with colleagues in NES to redesign of The Knowledge Network available at https://www.knowledge.scot.nhs.uk which was launched in April this year. Derek has an MSc in Library and Information studies from The Robert Gordon University.
