Ruth Carlyle
Head of Knowledge and Library Services – NHS KLS Leadership, NHS England and HLG Policy Lead
Ruth Carlyle is Head of Knowledge and Library Services (NHS KLS Leadership) at NHS England and is policy lead for the CILIP Health Libraries Group. Ruth has spent her career in health libraries, completing her information science training in the pharmaceutical sector before establishing the first information service for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Prior to joining the NHS in 2017, she was Head of Support and Well-being at Macmillan Cancer Support, overseeing the development of local Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Services. Ruth has a PhD in politics and is interested in the role of evidence in decision-making, including the roles that knowledge and library specialists can play in the politics of decision making.
